Dr Stefan Van Langendonck

Dr. Stefan Van Langendonck is a gastroenterologist and interventional endoscopist based at AZ Maria Middelares in Ghent, Belgium, and serves as a consultant at Ghent University Hospital (UZ Gent) and ZorgSaam Hospital in Terneuzen, the Netherlands. He possesses extensive expertise across both HPB and advanced intraluminal endoscopy, including diagnostic and interventional EUS, ERCP, advanced resection (EMR, ESD, eFTR, STER), third-space techniques (STER, POEM) and Zenker’s diverticulotomy. After completing his training at Antwerp University Hospital (UZA), he undertook advanced endoscopic fellowships at AZ Maria Middelares, Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc (Brussels), and the Portuguese Oncology Institute (IPO) in Porto. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Van Langendonck is deeply involved in professional governance and education. He serves as a board member of the Belgian Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (BSGIE), acts as an editor for Acta Gastro-Enterologica Belgica, and mentors senior residents and advanced endoscopy fellows. He also maintains a strong interest in procedural efficiency, quality, and cost-effective healthcare delivery.
