Prof. Dr Alanna Ebigbo is Director of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at St. Josef-Hospital, Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. He is a specialist in gastroenterology, infectious diseases, and advanced interventional endoscopy, having previously served as Head of Advanced and Interventional Endoscopy at University Hospital Augsburg. His research focuses on artificial intelligence in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, advanced endoscopic resection techniques including ESD and EMR and third-space endoscopy. He collaborates with leading academic institutions across Europe. Prof. Ebigbo is Co-Editor of the Endoscopy journal. He also serves on several ESGE committees. Alongside his academic work, Prof. Ebigbo contributes to endoscopy training initiatives in African countries. His research has received several awards, including the 2020 DGVS Endoscopy Research Award.
