Prof Helena Degroote

Prof Dr Helena Degroote is a staff member in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at UZ Brussel. She studied medicine at Ghent University (UGent) and trained as a gastroenterologist at Ghent University Hospital (UZ Gent). Her work focuses primarily on the care of patients with liver diseases and benign biliopancreatic disorders. She also specializes in the endoscopic evaluation and treatment of bile duct and pancreatic disorders using ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound. Prof Dr Degroote combines her clinical practice with scientific research. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and frequently speaks at specialized medical conferences. Her doctoral research focused on developing new diagnostic and therapeutic options for patients with primary liver tumors.
